Colour Wheel Comparator.....(Checker
Disk
Test Kits)....
The colour wheel comparator works in a almost
identical way to the Chemical test kit using the technology of
Colourimetric to provide a greater accuracy and resolution. The
Checker disk is a colour comparison wheel shaded from dark to light
in proportion to the concentration of the chemical parameter being
tested.
The Colour wheel
comparator kit
works by using a sample of the pond water and adding a small amount
of the chemical reagent, For Chlorine the reagent is known as DPD
which reacts with the Chlorine found in the water sample to turn the
water pink the depth of the colour which shows up is how you will
then determine the strength of the chemical found in the water.
Rather than holding up the
coloured sample next to a card as you do with the Chemical Test Kit
the colour wheel kit comes complete with a dropper, you simply use
this to drop a small amount of your sample onto the colour wheel and
then slowly turn the wheel to match the sample to the reading
colour.
This method reads far more
accurately, this is because when you use the chemical test you are
holding the sample in the light which will then inadvertently alter
the colour created meaning each test is always going to differ
slightly.
The Kit is provided with a
Colour Wheel appropriate to the parameter you are testing for and a
dropper.
Measures total chlorine using the DPD chemical method. Kit contains
everything needed to carry out 100 individual tests.

An important note to remember when
deciding on a Chlorine tester is that whilst the colour changing
kits are the lower end of budget we don't all see colours in the
same way.....But the final choice would be down to a How much you
want to spend VS How accurate you want the result......
