A decorative fishpond is polluted by fish waste
as well as by excess feeding. Unless this pollution is removed the pond will
turn into a hostile environment for fish. Excess waste also serves as nutrients
for algae, causing green water. You cannot see your fish in turbid water and
health problems may go unnoticed. Kusuri KLEAR contains strains of beneficial micro-organisms that are
capable of bio-degrading fish waste. Toxic ammonia, which is produced by fish,
is ultimately converted into harmless nitrate and nitrogen gas. This process
also produces biomass through reproduction of bacteria, which will serve as food
for the “animals” in the pond.
The growth cycle of the bacteria
requires phosphate, which is a major
nutrient for filamentous algae. Bacteria
reproduce faster than algae so that they
consume more nutrients, leaving less for
algae to feed on. Kusuri KLEAR clarifies the water and slows down the development of
algae. In this way the water quality is improved in a natural manner without
addition of toxic chemicals. It reduces stress and helps to keep fish healthy.
Preconditioner
for use with Klear
Preconditioner to be
used in conjunction with Kusuri Klear it will
pre-activate 1ltr of Klear
when mixed
together in a heated container, the
dosage is 1ltr of Klear and 500mls of
preconditioner with 10ltrs of pond water
kept at 30 degrees C for 2 to 7 days.
A sludge layer tends to form on the bottom of ponds that have been in use for
a few years. This is caused by sedimentation of both garden and undigested fish
wastes. Excess waste accumulates on the bottom of the pond in dead corners and
in drains. The wastes may cause clogging in pumps and filters.
Decomposing wastes produces toxic gasses, which cause noxious odours and may be
the source of serious problems if the
surface of the pond freezes. Kusuri Sludgebuster contains beneficial micro-organisms that will efficiently
biodegrade this kind of waste.
Regular use prevents accumulation of organic
solids so that drains, pumps and filters require minimal cleaning. -Coarse sediments, such as leaves, should be removed manually whenever possible by
removing organic waste.

bacteria to efficiently bio-degrade
sludge in ponds, pipe work and
filters. Regular use prevents
accumulation of organic sediments.
Apart from being unsightly and
sometimes clouding water, by
removing waste the beneficial
bacteria eliminate the causes of
noxious odours and reduce the oxygen
demand (B.O.D.), meaning more oxygen
is available for the fish. Kusuri
SLUDGEBUSTER is best applied weekly
or at least once a month. Ideal for

Preactivator
for use with Kusuri Sludgebuster
Use
preactivator 12gms to 1ltr of sludge
buster. Add 12ltrs of water, and
heat with an aquarium heater to 25
degrees C. Add an air stone and
leave for seven days in the dark,
allow to cool and add to you
filters. This brew will activate the
sludgebuster's to me it very
powerful and far more effective.
Beneficial micro-organisms, like all living creatures need minerals and
essential trace elements for their growth and activity. Nutrient limitation
often occurs in decorative ponds due to rapid uptake. Bacta-Pur® NUTRIPAK
contains the nutrients, minerals and trace elements that are needed by the
