Water Pumps

Surely the heart of every pond has to be the Pump...

Just as our own heart is our own pump ... So choosing the right pump is an extremely important decision .. and if you get it wrong then you will either have to change it - or more likely loose your valuable Koi through pumping either too much water or not enough...

When choosing a pump, whether it be a Submersible Pump or a Dry Surface Pump be sure that the pump that you are thinking about buying will do the job properly... for example: If your pond has 5,000 gallons capacity then you need a pump that will deliver 2,500 gph (half the capacity of your pond) so that the water in your pond turns over once every 2 hours ... but Please bear in mind that you will have restrictions in the pipework that will, in some cases, dramatically reduce the output flow to your pond, for example: Ultra Violet Clarifiers - length of pipework runs - how many bends you have fitted etc ..etc... If you are not sure what we mean then please email us, or telephone Trevor and it will be explained to you...  Also bear in mind that at sometime in the future you may wish to add to your pond, and, or your equipment - for example; adding a heating unit (a very good idea anyway) or may wish to power up to a new waterfall... there are many factors to be taken into account when selecting your pump...

So please seek advise .. from a good koi dealer like The East Riding Koi Co... and don't go down to the local Supermarket or a D.I.Y store, or even the Garden Centre and pick one up off the shelf - take it to the cash-out and then get it home to find that you have picked the wrong one - just because there was nobody there who knew what they were talking about .. and this sound advise applies probably just as much to a 'Filter System' the 'Lungs' of your pond....

We sell quite a few good, and reliable pumps, both Submersible and Dry Surface Pumps .. and some of these are dual purpose - that means that they are both submersible and dry .. you choose which work you want the pump to work... (See the Oase 'Aquamax) Please take a look at our pages and see, and print out, details of the pumps that you are interested in.

If you need any further advise then please contact us and whether you are going to buy your pump from us (and we hope you will) or not .. you will receive expert advise...
