At last we have found a superb little surface skimmer that is an easy 'Add-On' to your pond...

Many of us, when we build a pond, forget all about a surface skimmer - that is until it is too late ... NOT ANY MORE!

Now you can add a efficient & effective surface skimmer with a minimal amount of work attached ...

Like all Surface Skimmers, the water needs to be passed through some sort of filtration unit prior to the water being returned to the pond ...

with these In-Pond Skimmers is
the Oase Aquamax 6,000 - and
the Hidroclean is a superb method of
filtering the water prior to return to the pond.

This super little surface skimmer will do the same job as a much larger skimmer and in many ways has greater advantages .. for example - it has a removable tray which traps the debris and waste fish food etc ... this is extremely easy to remove and to clean nor will it allow very small leaves or fish waste through the system as the much larger skimmers will, and, do ... Also at 'feeding time' and assuming that you do have your surface skimmer working - to prevent the floating food to be drawn into the surface skimmer it is a very simply matter of turning the inside tray round so that the back edge faces the front .. this will still allow the water to flow through the skimmer but will not allow the food to enter the tray where the fish cannot get at it ...The skimmer has a molded top that fits snugly to prevent birds or whatever else having a bath in it ... Not only that this Unique Surface Skimmer will work extremely efficiently on a low wattage pump - say for example : a central heating pump or better still an Oase 'Aquamax' 6,000 .... (see pumps)

These Surface Skimmers are constructed of PVC (not thin walled plastic) and are very robust with neat welds that don't even show ... They come in one single size which will suit most ponds .. of course if yours is a very large pond, or tank, then there is nothing to stop you fitting more than one surface skimmer ... our own landscaped pond has 2 such power skimmers.....

These surface skimmers should not be confused with another 'make-shift-after thought' surface skimmer that is on the market and which looks like 'Mickey Mouse's Ears' - that in our opinion is a mess and certainly detracts from the ponds aesthetics....

This sits on the bottom of the pond, or can be elevated so that the top is level with the water in the pond .. the top adjusts with the actual level of the water at any given time under normal use ..

It can be powered by connecting one of the Oase Aquamax submersible pumps and the ideal model would be the Aquamax 4000 - then simply connect that pump to the skimmer at the hose tail connection and your skimmer will be set up and working and we are sure you would be very pleased with it ..
