THE NEW - ESTRAD OZONE GENERATOR SYSTEMS

Estrad BV introduces a new range of air cooled ozone generators with a highly innovative technique and design. The capacities and the use of these generators are adjusted for the use in (Koi-)ponds. Estrad has as no other experience in this market in which a lot of people use to small ozone generators. The generators start from 4000 up to 25000 mg O3 / hour. In a Koi-pond you should use, after a good mechanical filtration, about 150 mg per 1000 l (1m3) pond volume!
All generators are air-cooled types. This air cooling is maximised with the help of the aluminium housing. This housing not only guarantees good cooling, it also assures a very good distribution in the generator itself, so the temperature differences are between 2C. The 7 grams unit has a 8kg aluminium housing! Due to the high frequency/high voltage techniques with soft start, which is unique in the ozone market, these generators are able to produce large amounts of ozone with very small power consumption. This power consumption is also very important regarding the temperature of the ozone generator. The 12 grams generator only takes 120 Watt, that means 10 Watt per gram ozone produced. The great advantage of air cooled ozone generators is the maintenance. While there is no condensation in the internal tube, there will be no 'nitric acid pollution'. When the generator is not running, for example because the right Redox potential value has been reached, condensation can again become a problem in the internal tube. Estrad solved this problem by heating the generator with a small heating element, so that the generator temperature is always approx. 2C higher than the surrounding temperature. In this case, moisture in the air will never be able to condensate in the internal tube. Estrad gives again the possibility for a fully integrated Redox control unit. As an option a digital air flow measurement can be provided for an exact adjustment of this airflow. The prices (excl. The new family of EstrOzone Generators has an optional redox potential sensor system that ensures the generator works only when required. This means that the water quality is monitored by means of its redox value. Only when this value is too low, the ozone generator will produce ozone to maintain a good water quality.

A great advantage of the EstrOzone is that they work directly: no more waiting weeks or even months for the build up of bacteria necessary in a standard biological filter and this happens without any form of waste products. The illustration above shows the large water cooled model that has a capacity to produce 7 grams of ozone per hour.

For the smaller applications or as an addition to an existing biological system then the smaller air cooled version can be used. In this way any sudden ammonia or nitrite concentration can be prevented and at the same time any algae build up in your pond will be stopped and harmful bacteria will be killed.

The EstrOzone is the ideal method for keeping the pond water in optimal condition. It not only results in clean water but also healthy fish. Because harmful waste products such as nitrite are converted into harmless compounds, the fish quickly achieves a better condition and this gives them more resistance to stress and illness. Ozone also delivers extra oxygen to the water, this not only benefits the fish but also creates the extra growth of nitrifying bacteria.

What is ozone.
Ozone is a sort of super oxygen. Instead of two oxygen atoms (O₂) it has three such atoms (O₃). This state can be achieved in various ways such as through the use of high voltage. Ozone is however unstable and results in the ozone trying to revert as quickly as possible back into oxygen. Ozone seeks out a substance that it can oxydize so that the original state is quickly realised. In this way a very powerful oxydizer is created that not only environmentally friendly is but also leaves behind no waste products. With its task completed it leaves only pure oxygen in the water.

The EstrOzone generator is simple to connect. It functions directly without the delay of waiting for the biological filter to ripen. The electronics are completely protected against overheating or other malfunctions and there are several connections for an external alarm. It is even possible to connect it to a mobile phone. The generator may also be connected to the water pump or may be used to control other devices.

Through an optional redox potential meter you can even switch of and on automatically depending on the amount of pollution that is programmed. This gives an energy efficient operation.

A healthy pond is a balance between feeding, consuming and filtering. If these factors are under control the result will be a beautiful worry free hobby and of course healthy fish.

The Estrad units are ideally suited to ponds of 2000 gallons and above as they produce substantial levels of Ozone.

The Estrad Ozone generators are very sophisticated units complete with Redox Controllers and Redox probes as these systems produce relatively large volumes of Ozone. (If fitted in smaller pond environments it is imperative that Ozone dosing is automatically controlled). The units also have built in air dryers to ensure that dry air is drawn in to the unit, thus ensuring optimum performance. They also incorporate air flow monitors and are fitted with flow and Ozone alarms which switch off Ozone production if required

Ozone Reactor / Protein Skimmer

The Estrad Ozone reactor is suitable for use with all Estrad Generators and is a high pressure unit requiring a pump of at least 0.25kw and above with a head of at least 4m for satisfactory operation. The units incorporate an adjustable venturi and Coarse and fine adjustment of water/foam level for optimum performance.
