Symptoms

Disk-like creatures up to 10mm long crawling about fish's body.

FISH-LICE Argulus spp. crustacean.

Koi Ponds & Garden Ponds

STERAZIN P in conjunction with PONDSAL.
Alternative treatment: Using 'Masoten Powder' (if you can get it) at the rater of 1 grm per ton (220 gallons) Mix well in a plastic bucket using pond water making sure all the powder is dissolved, it will take on a light blue or aquamarine colour, and pour round the perimeter of the pond ...A second dosage will be required in pond water is between 48 to 58 degrees Fahrenheit after 10 days... If the water temperature is above that temperature then treat again after 7 days. The use of Masoten this way will not colour the pond water.

Prevention

Maintain a much higher standard of aquasystem hygiene, paying particular attention to filter cleanliness and avoiding overfeeding. Always stir up filter-bed before siphoning off old aquarium water when carrying out a partial water changes. Never use non-irradiated seafoods, Daphnia, Tubifex, bloodworm, mosquito etc. Marine only - never use natural seawater or unsterilized decor objects from the beach. Above all - carry out routine STERAZIN/P prophylaxis at least once per month on all systems.
