Symptoms

Greyish white film over entire body surface, easily confused if microscope not available) with disease 4. but does not respond to MYXAZIN treatment.

Disease

TRICHODINIA - caused by protozoan parasites of genus Trichodina.

Koi Ponds & Garden Ponds

Flush pond through gently for 24 / 36.hrs. as indicated above and carry out full course of STERAZIN P treatment. Reduce feeding.

Alternative treatment: Use Potassium Permanganate at the rate of 1.5 grms per ton of water (220 gallons) Mix in a plastic bucket using water that is slightly below boiling point to ensure that the crystals all dissolve then when cool pour round the perimeter of the pond in the same way as you would add Malacite and Formalin mixtures.

Prevention

Never buy newly imported, unquarantined fishes.
