The Pond Governor is a highly
efficient, anti-clogging, mechanical
pre-filter designed to improve the water quality of fish ponds,
Koi Carp ponds, natural ponds and water gardens by increasing both
the ponds natural biological filtration efficiency and the
efficiency of the external biological filter systems.
 It
will improve the pond pumps flow rate to the external biological
filter systems, pond fountains and pond waterfalls, as it
separates and pre-filters organic solid waste from the pond water,
and contains it in the housing sump before it is able to clog the
pump or external biological filters.

Simply install and secure the Pond Governor
housing and your pond pump in any easily accessible position just
below the pond water's surface as shown in Figure 5.
A natural pond or water garden
(Figure 5)
The adjustable inlets (5) are used to
prefilter mid water and just below the pond water surface.
A fish pond or Koi Carp pond
(Figure 6B)
The adjustable inlets (5) are used to
prefilter mid water and just below the pond water surface.
Inlet (2) is multi functional and gives the
option to use a flexible hose to install a mid water inlet or
bottom water inlet or simply fit a vacuum attachment and vacuum up
those pockets of water polluting organic solid waste.
A heavily stocked fish pond or Koi
Carp pond (Figure 1)
The adjustable inlets (5) are used to
prefilter mid water and just below the pond water surface.
Inlets (3) and (4) are multi functional and
give the option to use two flexible hoses separately or
simultaneously to install mid water inlets or bottom water inlets
or simply fit the vacuum attachment and vaccum up those pockets of
water polluting organic waste.
The Pond Governor separates, pre-filters and
vacuums the organic solid waste from the pond's water and gives
the options of surface water, mid water and bottom water
filtration separately or simultaneously as shown by the flow
arrows in Figure 1.
This multiple inlet separator and pre filter
can be used:-
• Without flexible hoses (Fig 5)
• With one flexible hose (Fig 6A or Fig 6B)
• With two flexible hoses (Fig 1)
• With Vacuum attachment (Fig 6A)

Figure 1A shows the Pond Governor housing 1 and the pond pump 2
installed in a pond filtering water just below the pond surface
and at mid water simultaneously. The water can be discharged back
onto the pond using a simple pipe as shown or by way of example a
fountain or a waterfall.

at mid water and the pond bottom water simultaneously. 3 shows an
ultraviolet clarifier fitted and 4 shows an external biological

Performance Option
The vegetable filter 5 helps to
remove nitrate (the prime food of algae).
The
option to be used with the flexible hoses that can be installed
into any position inside a pond gives this filter system
unprecedented cleaning ability.
The Vacuum Attachment
The supplied
vacuum attachment shown in Figure 6A cleans up those pockets of
unsightly, water polluting solid waste that are inaccessible to
conventional pre-filters, solid handling pumps and gravity fed
bottom drain systems.
The Pond Governor can be used as a conventional
pond vacuum for major pond cleaning to remove both the solid waste
and the wastewater from the pond bottom.
Simply disconnect and divert the pond pump outlet
pipe from your external biological filter, fountain or waterfall
to a drain off position or the garden lawn.
Then pump the vacuumed solid waste and wastewater
to a drain off position or the garden lawn.
The Pond Governor vacuum attachment can be used
for general upkeep in a maintained pond to remove the pockets of
unsightly, water polluting solid waste from the pond bottom
without any water loss.
This is very important to the fish keeper who
realises how valuable good water quality is, how hard it is to
achieve and how important it is not to waste it.
The Advantages of Using the Pond Governor
The wide choice of different, easy to use, and
change filtration functions, that can be used on their own, or in
any combination, gives this filter system many advantages, over
standard single function systems.
A pond pump pre filter only acts as a strainer
which keeps all the water polluting solid waste in the pond, is
difficult to clean and constantly clogs. The Pond Governor is a
combined separator and pre filter that removes this water
polluting solid waste from the pond, contains it in the housing
sump and
has an anti clogging filter member sleeve.
A solid handling pump, only removes solid waste
from the pond and pumps it up into the external biological
filters, which then have to remove this clogging waste.
The Pond Governor removes the solid waste from the
pond and contains it in the housing sump. This not only gives the
advantage of reducing the
clogging solid waste inside the external
biological filters, it reduces the solid waste passing through the
pond pump that can be broken up into fine particles by the pond
pump which, are difficult for the external biological filters to
remove.
