On trails of this new system it was found that the period between maintenance could safely be left for up to 4 weeks without affecting the water quality - You can go away safely on Holiday and not have to worry about your filtration system or your Koi ...  knowing that when you return your pond water will still be in peak condition ...

The K1 (Kaldnes) media here can be seen to have changed colour from the pure white to this light toasted brown colour - this is normal when a system has kicked in and is working well .. note the K1 is kept totally separate in both the inner and outer chambers, which in this case the system does not deploy The Answer, which is the mechanical stage of the filtration ... the water passes through to the K1, down the central exit port, where it then passes through the outer biological stage of the system prior to its return to the pond ....

HOWEVER - for this system to work as we say it can and will .. it is very important that you understand and study the instruction manual provided with your equipment - the waste outlet pipework connections are very important if you wish to have a trouble free system..

In the case where The Answer is fitted then the fine dirt particle removal is done in the final exit chamber (D) and the exit from that chamber back to the pond must be fitted with a connection direct to waste and controlled by a Ball Valve - it is now recommended that that connection be done using 3/4" PVC pipe - on the photo on the left you will see that this connection is is shown as being done using 1/5" PVC pipe - as this system was built prior to these latest modifications - but that is not detrimental as the Ball Valve can be shut slightly to obtain the correct out-flow level required to pull all the now free flowing dirt particles and the dirty water and send that direct to the sewer where possible .. so if you already have the NeXus System and already use the Answer and you did your waste connection in 1.5" PVC and don't at this stage wish to alter that pipework (which we will eventually do ourselves) - then you can run your system without worry ..

The Normal drain off connections from the bottom of the NeXus should where possible be done as per the photo shown here ... and the parts used are 1 x PVC x 1/5" 'T' - 1 x PVC reducing bush 1.5" to 3/4" - 1 x PVC 3/4" x 90 degree elbow and a short length of PVC 3/4" PVC pipe - all parts should be Solvent welded to give firm secure watertight connections ..

So if you are at this moment thinking about a new filtration system to replace that one that you were assured would work and then did not .. or if you are thinking about building a new pond .. then this could be the filtration system you need ...  but get your order in as soon as you can to avoid the disappointment of having to wait ....
