These Strange looking Filters are
remarkable.....
These when, fitted in line, on your return pipework - act like a
small compact 'Sand Pressure Filter'.... they remove all of those
finer particles of dirt that your conventional Filter System fails
to remove - making sure that the water returning into your pond is
pure and clean making your pond water the cleanest it has ever been
...
 The
Azud cartridge filter is reasonably easy to install - we
installed one on our own system in just over 1 hour and the system
was back up and running...
It does not take an enormously powerful pump to run one of these
units .. in fact the pond we installed it on is a 2,500 gallon pond
fitted with a TMC 55 watt UV and an Elecro 3 kw heater ... all
powered with just a single OASE Aquamax 15,000 and even though we
still do not have to open the controlling Ball Valve fully...
this Azud Cartridge Filter is working well on the system
...
You can buy one of these in complete
confidence knowing that it will ensure that your water is 'Super
Clean' .... but like all filtration you do have to keep on top of
the maintenance ... if you don't clean the cartridge then you won't
have clean water ... no filters are completely cleaned by Magic
...
The AZUD - This unique filtering system features the
cartridge which is fitted with 220 or 300 polypropylene radial rings, each ring having
progressively diminishing triangular filter channels with a
carefully directional angle, rib reinforcement and fastening ring,
as well as a system of anti-algae tabs.
As regards its dimensions
and mounting parameters, these permit its insertion into standard
inlet and outlet pipes.
The AZUD is easy to maintain ..
the unit has a removable upper section
 which
when lifted off exposes the cartridge itself ... this cartridge can
then be totally lifted out of the housing for cleaning purposes ...
leaving the bottom section of the Azud Cleaner in place and locked
into your own pipework ...
To remove the upper section the extremely strong locking ring has
to be unclipped .. this ring when removed allows the
top to be completely removed giving access to the cartridge itself
which can then be lifted out for cleaning .. and you can even use a
hosepipe to do this job, but if you do have a pressure washer then
it becomes even easier .. and so simply that any child could do it
once shown how it should be done ... There is nothing complicated
about this 'Superb' - but controversially different filter ...
We firmly endorse the use of this type of way of 'cleaning and
polishing' your water before it's return to the pond - either using
this Azud or the Hidroclean Cartridge Filter Systems ..

Without doubt these Cartridge
filters do make our life that little bit easier, which
of course is essential and very important when we have 9
filtration systems to service regularly, customers to
see, orders to get out, orders to get in, do all the
book keeping, update the web site, and try to find a
little time to eat and sleep!
Unlike
the Hidroclean a Stand is not required on which to mount the
filter itself - but perhaps it may be a good idea to support
the weight of the Cartridge Filter - but there will be a few
ways to do this once you start the installation and see what
is going to be required .. the connections on the AZUD
filter are 2" BSP external thread and we suggest that you use
one of our PVC 2" Female Thread / Plain Unions on either side
.. this will enable you to remove the filter should you need
to do so at any time .. if however one side of the
filter may be charged with water, then you can always use a
Ball Valve to shut off the return water flows and at the same
time allow the union to be undone to remove the filter ....
