I have tried to include in this book a cross section of some of the breeders and a Nishikigoi historian who have continued to amaze me over the years with their knowledge, expertise and total commitment to their endeavours. I feel it is about time that someone gave them the limelight they justly deserve in writing, other than in Japanese. Like the Nishikigoi they produce, no two personalities are the same. There are many others I would have liked to include, but time, space and other thieves have not allowed me to do so. One such person is pictured left, Mr Miya, The Miyatora Company, Araya, Niigata, - famous for Kichinai Sanke.
