Koi2Kichi
is not just a book it’s a
Nishikigoi experience. It's not just a book, not even just two
books, but rather a completely original and totally unique package.
Koi2Kichi is a journey in two
books. The first book - The path to understanding - from
Mistake to Mystique - deals with all and every aspect of
Koi, from a detailed work about how Koi and the Koi industry
emerged, water, an incredibly detailed segment on state of the art
pond design, to health aspects, Koi shows and the definitive work on
Tategoi. This aspect especially has been laboured over by Peter for
years – the understanding of a lifetime in Koi by its leading non
Japanese protagonist.
 The
second book - The path to Yamakoshi - the highways and the
byways. This book takes us on four basic journeys through
the mountains of Yamakoshi and is divided up into four Koi tours.
Starting from Nagaoka/Ojiya it takes an incredible journey
through the legendary villages of Niigata and visits literally
hundreds of the leading breeders. It not only shows you where they
are and how to find them, it actually takes you there!
It reveals incredible details
about many of the world leading breeders. It doesn’t just take you
there through descriptive writing, it also provides a series of
maps. These maps have been developed over more than twenty years and
show each key village and breeder. These awesome maps help readers
follow the book and locate any breeder or village on the journeys.
These maps are incredibly detailed down to even showing individual
mud ponds!
Koi2Kichi also presents a Yamakoshi overview map showing not only all the villages in relation
to each other, but also the main roads linking them. Almost enough
to arrive with the book and visit any Koi breeder in Yamakoshi. We
say almost enough because as if that were not enough there is
more.... During 2003 our team went to Niigata with the worlds
leading Koi Videographer Nik Read from New Vision Productions and
painstakingly filmed every bend, turn, nook and
cranny. We also visited each and every main breeder and village and
filmed them too! The resulting K2K DVD combines with the book to
offer a definitive who’s who and what’s what multimedia
representation of this legendary region.
The
Koi2Kichi package includes
two books totaling almost six hundred pages and hundreds of photos
taken by Peter Waddington and Nigel Caddock over many years. Many of
these pictures have never been shown anywhere before. It also
includes the village and breeder maps PLUS the Yamakoshi overview
map....AND the tour on DVD all in one package!
The
