As we have mentioned you can use air stones Powered by
your Air Pump - or diffusers but there is also another superb way of
introducing a column of air into the actual pond without causing too
much diffusion of the water surface - thus enabling you to view your
Koi without having to turn the air pump off or to pull out the air
stones ... and that is by using what is known as a 'Diffuser'
bottom drain conversion unit ...
We have sold many of these Air Diffusers to our own
customers, and of course use these within our own systems, and these
are without doubt Far Superior to the normal Air Stones.. they do
not diffuse the surface of the water half as much the conventional
air-stone and your Koi can be viewed clearly without having to turn
off the air supply.
The unit which has a wide diameter rubber insert with literally
thousand of tiny holes to allow the air flow to come out simply
replaces the dome top on your own bottom drain and the air line
supply can either be run inside the length of the bottom drain pipe
- coming out at a convenient place near to where your Hi-Blow pump
is situated ... or it can, if you wish be simply run across the
bottom of the pond and connected to your Hi-Blow pump at that point.
Of source by far the best and easiest way is to make provision for
one of these diffuser conversion units at the time of construction
... in other words as you lay in the pipework for the bottom drain
you simply thread through a sufficient length of airline and then
when you are ready connect both ends..... |
