This underwater filter also offers
an air flow control device and a handy water flow adjuster.
The 90 degree swivel spout directs the flow out put so that you
as the aquarium keeper are allowed to change the flow patterns
to whatever you or your fish desire……
In addition the Fluval Plus has a clogging indicator that gives
you a visual indication of when the filter media requires
maintenance or replacement.
It is now also much more easily maintained as the clever change
of design means that all parts to the chambers are on a ‘press’
pressure release system, so no more grappling with ‘slimy’ motor
heads and casings…….the impeller is easily accessible, so
removal for cleaning is not a problem……….
When maintaining the main filter sponges never clean them under
running tap water as in most instances tap water – certainly in
this country contains chlorine. Clean them only in some water
that you have siphoned out of the aquarium………….
Fluval Plus 1
This is the baby of the range, there fore the smallest and most
compact. It does vary slightly from it’s bigger brothers in as
much as it is a single chamber canister with only one piece of
sponge media and no adjustable flow regulator……….it is however
ideal for the smaller aquariums that hold no more than 45
litres/ 12 US gallons of water – just a little tip here US
gallons are smaller than UK gallons, so the equivalent would be
around 8/9 UK gallons……….
The Plus 1 is compact and hard working, making it an ideal
filter for a small starter tank or for growing on larger fry.
The water turnover in this filter is 200 litres per hour 220/240
volts and has a 5 watt motor…………..

All the bigger models of these filters sport the same handy
features………..
They all come with a two chamber media cartridge, there is a
‘third’ possible chamber in the middle that can house if desired
a polyester or carbon pad – both if you require.
The unique anti clogging indicator that alerts you to the need

Fluval Plus Foam Pads
These foam pads have been especially
designed as a standard filter medium for the Fluval underwater
filters. They maximize surface contact between the water and the
media. The large filtering surface ensures efficient cleaning of
the aquarium water and maximizes the colonization of beneficial
bacteria.

Fluval Plus Carbon Pads
The Fluval Plus Carbon filter pad with
high-quality impregnated active carbon is particularly suited to
filtering out harmful liquid substances, dyes, medicines and
extremely fine suspended particles and contaminants. It improves
the clarity, colour and smell of the water and does not alter
the water properties. (carbon must always be removed before
using any disease treatment).

Fluval Plus Polyester Pads
These fine polyester filter pads have been
especially designed as a filter media ideally suited for
filtering out extremely fine suspended particles and
contaminants in your aquarium water therefore making it crystal
clear.

Fluval Foam Insert (earlier model)
The Fluval foam sleeve insert is specially
designed for the Fluval internal filters. It functions as an
effective mechanical media to remove debris from the aquarium.
Foam also encourages populations of beneficial bacteria which
are important for proper biological balance in your aquarium.
(Note: Nitrifying bacteria require time to become established.
Lack of nitrifying bacteria in a new set-up may result in the
aquarium becoming cloudy. This normally clears as the bacteria
become established.

Fluval Impeller
The impeller is one of the driving forces of
your Fluval filter and sometimes for whatever reason it may need
replacing.

Fluval Spray Bar Kit
Fluval Spray Bar Kit is used to direct
